The real measure of any time management technique is whether or not it helps you neglect the right things.

Oliver Burkeman, Four Thousand Weeks

If you can say YES to one, two or no more than three priorities today and NO to everything else, you will be on the right track.

You will be living strategically. Otherwise, you might be like a speck of thistle down, just a blowing in the wind. (From a song my uncle wrote)

You know what they say, if you have more than three priorities, you have none.

The question is how to pick those priorities? And stick to them?

The key to picking the best strategic priorities is use a pre-suasion technique I learned from a YouTube video by Dr Benjamin Hardy.

I modified Dr Ben's five questions to work for real estate agents.

I review my answers to these questions every morning before setting my three priorities for the day.

1. What three courses of action action am I taking to accomplish each pillar of my 3-Pillar Strategy Real Estate Strategy?

7 Daily Pre-Suasion Questions:

1. Where are you right now? 1,2,3
2. 3 Wins you had over the last 90 days? 1,2,3
3. 3 Wins you want over the next 90 days? 1,2,3
4. Where do you want to be in 1 year? 1,2,3
5. Where do you want to be in the next 3 years? 1,2,3
6. Where do you want to be in 25 years? 1,2,3
7. What is the one thing you need to do daily?

If you can write out your answers to these questions and review them quickly each morning you will be performing a pre-suasion exercise that helps you set better priorities for you day.

Here's how I do it. There are many ways this can be implemented. This is mine

I write these pre-suasion questions and my answers in a 3x5 inch field notes, single-purpose, bullet journal (BUJO). I use the rest of the pages of this BUJO, one page for each day,  to set my 3 priorities daily, the first thing in the morning, after having reviewed my pre-suasion questions. At the end of my day I log my 3 wins and score my responses to any setbacks. I give myself a score of 1-5 for my emotional response and 1-5 for the elegance and effectiveness of my work-around to the setback. And, I set 3 aspirations for tomorrow as part of my bedtime meditation to let my subconscious help me overnight.

If you are a real estate agent, or anyone who wants to get focused and moving forward, I have a coaching program for setting priorities that I'm willing to share with you.
